Annual update: Designated non-financial businesses and professions (morning session)

Everything you need to know about the supervision of designated non-financial businesses

We are pleased to invite representatives from Jersey’s Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBP) sector to attend the JFSC’s DNFBP Annual Presentation.

This event will provide attendees with an update on supervisory priorities, emerging risks, sector developments, and practical compliance guidance. The session will also highlight opportunities for constructive engagement between industry and the regulator as the sector continues to evolve.

Agenda

The event will cover:

  • Jersey’s position as an international finance centre and opportunities for future growth
  • lessons learned from supervisory examinations, including common findings and examples of good practice
  • updates on fees and digital services available through the JFSC
  • digital assets update
  • outreach and engagement initiatives across the DNFBP community
  • practical compliance tools and resources available to support businesses
  • key priorities & areas of focus for the year ahead and
  • a panel Q&A session with JFSC representatives and guest speakers.

There will also be time for questions and discussion.

Opening remarks – Jill Britton, Director General

Jill Britton is the Director General and Registrar of the JFSC. With over 25 years’ experience in financial services across the UK, Jersey, and Asia, she has held senior leadership roles in regulation, risk, and compliance, and is a strong advocate for learning, development and mentoring within the industry.

Guest speaker, Joe Moynihan, Chief Executive Officer, Jersey Finance

Joe will provide an industry perspective on Jersey’s position in the global marketplace, key developments across the finance industry and opportunities for future growth.

With a career in financial services spanning four decades, Joe has a strong commitment to the future success of the industry in Jersey.

Joe commenced his professional life in the banking sector, rising to the position of CEO of Jersey and the Isle of Man for a major bank, with responsibility for banking, trust, and investment businesses. He later served as Director of Financial Services within the Government of Jersey, working closely with industry and the regulator to support and enhance the Island’s position as a leading international finance centre.

Before joining Jersey Finance as Chief Executive Officer in February 2019, Joe was involved in establishing high-reputation regulatory frameworks and business models for international finance centres in the Middle East and Africa. He is also a Board Director of the World Alliance of International Financial Centres.
