Employees in the Channel Islands are unwittingly helping cyber criminals to successfully attack their employer through ransomware and other tactics that bypass technology controls.
Yet, many HR professionals are unaware of their key role in protecting the organisation, or mistakenly believe cyber security is only about IT.
Cyber and information security can only be achieved by the combined focus of people, operations and technology. HR is responsible for leading the business in how it recruits, develops, motivates, rewards and manages the performance of all employees. This includes driving a strong strategy to minimise the risk of employees enabling criminals to attack the company, and prevent lasting damage to the organisation, its employees and customers.
In this webinar presented by Bruce McDougall, chair of the Guernsey CIPD and committee member of the Channel Islands Information Security Forum (CIISF), we will demystify cyber and information security, and highlight some specific actions that HR should take in working with senior leadership and employees. This joint webinar is hosted the CIPD branches in Guernsey and Jersey, with the support of the CIISF.
