Entries for the 2024 Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards are now open, offering participants a chance to secure up to £3,000 towards their Channel Island projects.
For over three decades, Insurance Corporation has been dedicated to recognising, promoting, and rewarding valuable conservation efforts in the Bailiwick of Guernsey and Jersey. They invite all individuals currently engaged in this important environmental or nature conservation in our islands, to submit their entries.
The awards recognise those people who undertake projects that display their concern for the environment. The aim of the competition is to bring these efforts to the attention of others and, as a consequence, to highlight the important environmental conservation work that takes place throughout the Channel Islands. The competition encourages conservation projects, no matter how large or small, and whatever stage in the process, emphasis being placed on nature conservation.
Michelle Steele (pictured), HR & PR Executive for Insurance Corporation, said: “There are countless individuals of all ages tirelessly working to protect and enhance our natural environment, and we would encourage them to apply for the opportunity to secure additional funding for their projects.”
Entries are welcomed from projects of any scale, and applicants can apply for multiple awards. Submissions are encouraged from all sectors, including established organisations, schools, youth groups, and young achievers.
The awards feature three distinct categories:
- Best Conservation Project
- Schools and Youth Groups Green Award
- Young Conservationist of the Year.
Furthermore, all entries are eligible for public voting in The Peter Walpole People’s Choice category.
Michelle concluded: “We are continually amazed by the diverse and inspiring range of entries we receive and eagerly anticipate what 2024 will bring.”
