The new role of Chief Commercial Officer at Channel Island technology business C5 Alliance has been taken up by a proven business developer with a formidable track record.
Richard Welsh was a founder of a consumer lending and insurance business originally based in Northern Ireland which he grew from inception to a turnover of £450m across the UK before being part of an MBO resulting in ultimately selling the company to an international bank.
He then harnessed his business experience as Senior Business Development Manager at Price Waterhouse Coopers in Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands where he supported the business in growing market share in a number of key service areas.
At C5, he joins the new senior management team and will collaborate with the core areas of expertise in the company to help clients achieve their objectives through technology.
Mr Welsh said that clients are concerned about security, pressure on margins, fees and revenue. They want to do things more efficiently, use their people wisely and utilise technology as the foundation for business transformation.
“By understanding our clients businesses, we can help them achieve digital transformation so that they can better meet the needs of their own demanding customers whilst driving better efficiency within their own business. We have realigned the C5 business to focus on three areas – Cloud Infrastructure, Security and Data Solutions to support clients by delivering effective technology solutions aligned to their business strategy”.
C5 Alliance CEO Scott Workman said: “Richard’s appointment along with significant planned investment is part of our strategy to grow and develop the C5 business. In his own business he recognised that leadership, people and value were critical success factors and these are closely aligned to our own approach to business. His intimate knowledge of the local markets will be invaluable in delivering future growth for our business.”
