A former HR manager at a finance consultancy firm in the Channel Islands has joined employment, employee relations and health and safety specialist, Law At Work (LAW).
Alison Rimington will support LAW as it increases its services in Guernsey, building on the client base it has already built up as the Channel Islands’ leading provider of advice, support and training on employment and health and safety matters.
The appointment is part of a move by LAW to expand its services in Guernsey and Alison will join Group Executive Director, Lorna Pestana, in steering through a period of growth for the business.
Lorna Pestana, Group Executive Director, said: “With a strong client base in Guernsey, we are looking to further expand our services in the Bailiwick. Employment relations professionals are in greater demand as companies are realising that the old model of Human Resources has changed. These days, workplaces are no longer confined to a single office. They are in people’s homes and sometimes in different jurisdictions.
“Our expectations of what employers should be providing their people has undergone a revolution and to cope with that requires new skills. I am delighted that Alison has joined us at an exciting time when we are experiencing such a high demand for our services in the Channel Islands.”
Alison added: “I am passionate about people growth and development through work which requires good human resource practice, starting with the recruitment process and continuing throughout the employment relationship. We spend so much of our lives working it’s important that the experience is both enabling and satisfying for both the employee and the employer.
“As Lorna explained, the work landscape has undergone significant transformation in the last couple of years and businesses need support to be able to move with the times. I’m really looking forward to joining the hugely experienced team at LAW and provide support through sharing my experiences, skills and knowledge to the wider business community in Guernsey.”
