The AJ Architecture Awards recognise excellence in UK architecture across a range of sectors. Each shortlisted project is visited by a judging panel.
The awards highlight the very best projects across various categories from housing, health, and wellbeing to workplace and cultural projects. The Bathing Pools has been shortlisted in the Leisure Category. Judging will be taking place week commencing 28th of August.
David De La Mare, Managing Director of DLM Architects, said: “We are pleased and honoured that the Bathing Pools have been recognised and included in this prestigious list of award finalists. It is great to see Guernsey recognised in this UK award.”
David Warr Chairman of Vive La Vallette LBG said ‘When we commissioned DLM Architects to design the new facilities at La Vallette the brief was to design a building that would stand the test of time, maximize the potential of the site and provide a welcoming accessible space for all. David de la Mare and his team have achieved all of the above and more and the feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive. Guernsey now has a World class facility to compliment the outdoor swimming facilities of which all involved can be proud.’
The awards were open to all practices, regardless of size or scale. The winners will be revealed at a celebratory event that will take place on 22 November 2023 at London Hilton Metropole and all shortlisted entries showcased by the Architects Journal.
