SRJ Technologies has strengthened its Board with the appointment of Jersey digital innovator, Dr Andrew Mitchell. The specialised engineering firm, based in St Helier, focuses on solutions for asset integrity in the oil and gas industry.
Dr Mitchell acts as an advisor to digital and tech health start-ups after founding his own innovative heart screening company. He is a non-executive director of Adams Plc, an AIM-listed investment company, which concentrates on special situation investment opportunities in the small to middle market capitalisation sectors. He is also well known within the Island as a Cardiologist and Chief Clinical Information Officer at Jersey General Hospital.
Dr Mitchell said he is looking forward to working with the team at SRJ: “I have watched the business grow from being just a great idea in 2011, to their preparation for listing on the Australian stock exchange in September 2020. The products and services they have developed already are game-changing for industries such as oil and gas, and provide benefits for us all by helping protect our environment.
“This is just the beginning of SRJ’s journey as it increases its global expansion and I am looking forward to working with Chairman, Rob Pinchbeck and CEO, Alex Wood who heads up a bright and innovative team”.
Dr Mitchell is joined on the board by Grant Mooney, an Australian based corporate compliance expert with experience in financial and project management.
Chairman, Rob Pinchbeck, who has over 40 years’ experience in the international oil and gas industries, said the appointments are part of the broader corporate strategy.
“We’re excited at the calibre of both appointments. Mr Mooney’s and Dr Mitchell’s appointments increase the depth, breadth and diversity of experience within the group as we continue to build our Australian presence and bring technological enhancements to global markets”.
CEO Alex Wood said Dr Mitchell is the right fit for SRJ: “Andrew is collaborative, exceptionally bright and an aficionado of technology. He not only understands it, but he also understands people and so he is a great cultural fit for us and the modern business model that we operate”.
Dr Mitchell has published over 170 clinical papers, book chapters and abstracts on areas of clinical cardiology focussing on novel digital health and life science technologies. He brings a wealth of knowledge of technology companies and has applied his skills for the benefit of numerous business enterprises.
The Board and Executive of SRJ will also be supported by the new appointment of David Milner as consultant and Director of SRJ Technologies Australia Pty. David is the former CEO of e2o Pty Ltd, an Australian based engineering services company which he built over 10 years to become an AU$200 million a year revenue business. He has a strong understanding of the Australian market and mining and mineral processing, and will help further SRJ’s expansion plans in the region.
