DFDS has confirmed that the Tarifa Jet will not be in operation for this weekend’s sailings.
The company is deploying contingency plans to ensure all passengers can travel with minimal disruption for the Easter holidays.
DFDS continues to address the technical issues arising from last week’s assessment on the Tarifa Jet. The ferry company is finalising preparations for the vessel to enter service, which is now scheduled for next week.
With the Easter holidays due to begin this weekend, DFDS is ensuring the St Malo route runs smoothly deploying the Stena Vinga vessel to operate Thursday to Monday, with up to two rotations a day ensuring that all passengers can depart on their scheduled date of travel.
All affected passengers are being informed of changes and will be automatically moved to new departures with details of the schedules to be released today. If passengers are unable to travel due to the updated schedule, they will be able to move their bookings to alternative departures free of charge or can receive a full refund if they do not wish to proceed with their travel arrangements.
For the planned Jersey-Portsmouth departures, DFDS has made arrangements to use a replacement vessel and have advised that there will be no changes to the existing schedule.
Chris Parker, Route Director for Jersey, said: “As we eagerly await the Tarifa Jet to come into service, we want to make sure that passengers are able to travel with as little disruption as possible. I’m sorry that we have to make these changes to the schedule for this weekend and I would like to thank islanders for their continued patience with us.”
