Deloitte Guernsey has boosted its tax team with three new appointments. Tax Manager Alison Hill and Assistant Manager Monique De Abreu have recently joined the firm, whilst Marielle Fritsch moves from Deloitte’s audit department into the tax team as a Manager.
Alison Hill joins the private client tax group and brings a wealth of experience in global employer services, UK tax matters and Guernsey taxation to Deloitte and its offshore clients.
Miss Hill has joined Deloitte after five years working as a tax manager in the islands. Prior to this, she qualified as a trust and estate practitioner and a chartered tax adviser in London.
Monique De Abreu has joined the Guernsey office from South Africa with four and a half years’ tax experience. She is a business management postgraduate with a law degree and has a masters qualification in tax. Monique has experience in financial services advisory, international tax advisory and South African domestic tax.
Within her new role as an Assistant Manager, Miss De Abreu will focus on corporate and international tax and has been involved in a wide range of international tax advisory projects in the financial sector – including automatic exchange of information reporting such as FATCA and CRS and most recently Guernsey economic substance projects.
Tax Manager Marielle Fritsch will be involved in the corporate tax team, dealing with a wide range of topics such as substance compliance, income tax computations and tax audits.
After five years of auditing experience within the Deloitte network, Mrs Fritsch recently moved across to the tax team. Prior to relocating to Guernsey, she worked for three years at Deloitte South Africa.
Her experience has given her invaluable exposure to both private and globally listed companies under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and UK and American Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). She is a qualified chartered accountant and a registered member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
“Continued growth within our Channel Islands tax team in trusts advisory and international corporate tax has created the opportunity for Alison and Monique to join Deloitte and for Marielle to pursue her career in a new direction. I am delighted to welcome them,” says Deloitte Tax Partner Joanna Huxtable.
