Victoria College has announced that Deloitte has become their newest Foundation Partner.
Deloitte in Jersey will work directly with students across all year groups, giving them invaluable insight into the finance and professional services sector as they explore their future education and various career pathways.
The relationship with Deloitte will enable Victoria College to widen access to its world class education through bursary provision, making outstanding teaching and a broad range of co-curricular activities accessible to students from all backgrounds. Victoria College and its Foundation have ambitious aims to increase the number of bursaries available to students. Alongside other Foundation Partners, Deloitte will gain exclusive access to the College’s careers department and its array of activities including interview workshops, CV workshops with the Sixth Form students, the ‘lunch and learn’ programme, work experience opportunities and much more.
Headteacher, Dr Gareth Hughes commented: “I am delighted to welcome Deloitte as our newest Foundation Partner. Strong working relationships with Island businesses and charities is a key goal within our 2023-28 Strategic Plan, as is a focus on increasing inclusivity in our community. By working with Deloitte together we can support these goals and provide a fantastic source of career advice for our students.’
Deloitte’s Chief Operating Officer, Islands, Siobhan Durcan (pictured) said: “We are very proud to support Victoria College Foundation. We have worked with Victoria College for a number of years and have employed a number of alumni directly from school into our school leavers scheme and as graduates. The Foundation Partnership is a further strengthening of the bonds with the school. The investment in local schools to support the students’ transition from school to employment or university and provide them with the wider skills and insight is something we are very passionate about.”
