As part of the island’s Liberation 80 celebrations, de Gruchy will honour some of Jersey’s veterans with a celebratory afternoon tea party.
Taking place on Wednesday 14th May from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, the event will mark this milestone anniversary with a gesture of appreciation.
Held in street-party style outside The Brasserie, the event will welcome over 20 specially invited veterans for a traditional afternoon tea featuring a spread of delicious sandwiches, scones and freshly made cakes.
The area will be dressed with patriotic bunting, a striking 5-metre Union Jack flag and even a classic Willys Jeep stationed outside to greet guests in style.
Simon Youden, Store Director at de Gruchy, will host the afternoon and personally welcome the veterans to this memorable gathering. Discussing the tea party Simon said, “We’re proud to play our part in the Liberation 80 celebrations and to honour the courage, spirit and sacrifice of Jersey’s wartime generation.
“This tea party is a small way for us to say thank you and to ensure all our veterans feel recognised and celebrated during this historic anniversary.”
