Leading businessperson and global customer services expert, Claire Boscq, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Jersey Hospitality Association.
Claire was the successful candidate in a competitive selection process following the announcement in July that Simon Soar was stepping down to start a new role at Jersey Business.
A global authority on customer experience, Claire started her career in hospitality, working for Disney in Florida before working in 4- and 5-star hotels in France, Spain, the UK and Jersey.
Tim Hubert, Chair of the JHA, said: “When we started the process of searching for Simon’s successor, we knew that whoever would be successful would have to be prepared to enter a tough environment.
“Claire has had decades of experience, starting off in our industry and then moving into advising businesses around the world on how to get the best from their employees so that their customers keep coming back for more. That added insight into the business world is just what the JHA needs as we move through the challenging times we’ve had and into what will become a successful period once again for the hospitality sector. I know that Claire will rise to this challenge, and I am looking forward to working with her when she starts her new role.”
Claire, who will start on Monday, will be working closely with Simon Soar who will remain with the JHA until 10 September.
Simon Soar, JHA Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am delighted to be handing over my role to someone as talented and enthusiastic as Claire. We have worked together many times and I know that she will provide new energy into the JHA after a devastating period for hospitality.
“I know that she will give her all on behalf of our members. What I am particularly looking forward to is building on the close relationship the JHA has with Jersey Business so that we can work together to further develop the hospitality sector. Huge progress has already been made and I know that Claire will take that on in her new role.”
