Crestbridge has announced the opening of a second UK office. Its new Southampton office will be an operational presence, providing support to Crestbridge’s global network.
Crestbridge has chosen Southampton as a second UK location due to its diverse and skilled labour market, its accessibility and excellent transportation links to London and Europe, and importantly for the opportunity it provides to build relationships with the local community and universities.
The Southampton office will be a centre of fund administration technology and processes for Crestbridge’s operations, including those in the UK, Ireland, Europe and the United States. It will play a vital role in delivering the business’s continued commitment to quality and the highest levels of client service. Crestbridge has also approved a secondee programme for Southampton, enabling the office to benefit first-hand from the shared experience and expertise of colleagues from across the group.
The opening of the Southampton office is also part of Crestbridge’s continued commitment to investing in the UK post-Brexit, supporting the UK as a gateway to European and global markets for asset managers and international investors. The opening of a second office location in the UK, alongside its existing London office, is therefore an important step in Crestbridge’s focus on service quality and in supporting international investment.
Michael Johnson (pictured), Group Head of Institutional Services at Crestbridge commented: “Our new office in Southampton is very much part of our commitment to service and to quality. It will serve as an important hub for the continued operational support of our business and a key centre for the development of our people.
“The entire Crestbridge Group will benefit greatly from the service capabilities developed in Southampton and this investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the UK. We’re also committed to the local communities in which we operate, and we very much look forward to developing initiatives for our Southampton office that will provide excellent employment opportunities for young people, graduates and career professionals alike”.
Peter Taylor, President of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, in welcoming the news of Crestbridge’s Southampton office said: “This is excellent news and evidences the ever-growing strategic importance of the city and region to the UK. Business leaders and key stakeholders across Southampton, recognise the strategically important role which the city has both for the region but also nationally and internationally in a post Brexit, post Covid world. It is excellent to see that Crestbridge shares our enthusiasm to seize the opportunities we have. Collaboratively we can and will build on the strong foundations for future generations to live and work in the thriving city region.”
Cllr. Daniel Fitzhenry, Leader of Southampton City Council, also commented: “This investment into our city comes at a really exciting time for Southampton. We have long established financial services companies based in the city already and it’s great to see that we continue to attract investment from this sector.
“Crestbridge will be bringing new knowledge-economy jobs to the city and crucially offer opportunities to graduates from our two world-class universities. The city has been selected as one of eight Freeport locations and has been longlisted for the UK City of Culture 2025. These initiatives have huge potential and with major investments to redevelop over 22 acres of the city centre, plus over half a billion pounds of real estate investment in the pipeline, the city has much to look forward to. This investment shows that our focus on working in partnership with business to get Southampton moving works.”
