Credit Suisse in Guernsey has appointed Glen Tonks as Chief Executive Officer and Branch Manager for Guernsey.
Glen, who succeeds Paul Annegarn as CEO, takes up his position from today.
In his new role, Glen will be responsible for strategic direction and operational performance of the Credit Suisse AG, Guernsey Branch. Having joined Credit Suisse in Guernsey as Chief Operating Officer last year, he is familiar with the Credit Suisse business and operations locally, leaving him well positioned to transition into the role of CEO. Glen has received regulatory approval for the new role.
Glen has more than 24 years’ global banking and financial services experience, with a career that has spanned across retail banking, wealth management, asset management and commercial and private banking. He has a wealth of experience in strategy and people leadership, technology and digital transformation, and developing strategic partnerships.
Commenting on his appointment, Glen Tonks said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer. This is a really exciting time for Credit Suisse in Guernsey and I look forward to contributing to our client centric strategy for sustainable long-term growth. I’m excited to make a positive impact and contribution to the local community as well as championing both sustainability and diversity at the bank.”
Paul Annegarn, who acted as CEO for almost five years in Guernsey, is relocating with Credit Suisse to manage the bank’s operation in the Bahamas.
