With the news that a case of Coronavirus COVID-19 has been confirmed in Guernsey, business leaders will, understandably, have concerns.
The IoD and GIBA have issued a joint statement.
“Whilst currently we are hearing a ‘business as usual’ message, there is no doubt that the threat of COVID-19 virus to our physical and economic health must be taken seriously.
“It is understandable that local firms may be considering whether employees need to travel or attend large-scale events off island, as all businesses should prioritise the health of their people.
“We would urge all businesses to follow the advice being issued by the States of Guernsey and the UK Government about overseas travel which is being updated in response to this fast-evolving issue.”
