Condor Ferries is to donate £30,000 to local Channel Islands’ charities and organisations this summer through its grant based initiative.
The Condor Community Fund has been increased this year from £20,000 and is aimed primarily at environmental or sustainable initiatives alongside community-based projects. The applications process has already launched, with successful recipients notified in mid-July.
Justin Amey, Condor’s Head of Sales and Marketing, is delighted to be relaunching the Fund again and hopes to see many requests from across the Islands. He explained: “This is the fifth time we have run the Fund and judging by the applications received in previous years, there are some great examples of community projects and initiatives being undertaken.
“We are happy to hear from individuals and groups from all the Islands. Many give up their time for community activities and we would like to support their efforts in making a real difference, not just now but into the future.”
The process comprises of an online submission followed by an assessment of each application based on set criteria. These include sustainability, benefit locally, enjoyment for others and how the work will continue after completion.
Organisations that can apply include community groups, unincorporated associations, cooperatives, schools, social enterprises, individuals and amateur sports clubs.
