Condor Ferries has announced the appointment of John Napton as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Current CEO, Paul Luxon, has decided to step down from his role and the business after five busy years, from the end of June. He will be replaced by John Napton, currently UK Director Brittany Ferries and board member of Condor. John will commence his new role on 01 July.
Paul joined Condor in May 2016. He oversaw the sale of the company in 2019/2020 and has managed the business throughout the challenges of the Covid crisis.
“I leave in place a strong, talented and capable executive leadership team, who are all committed to the strategy and business plan and serving our customers. The company is in a strong position and its new fleet concept is the right model to deliver the right services for the period following the change in ownership and the reinvigoration of the Channel Islands post Covid” said Paul.
John Napton (shown in the main picture), 48, has worked for Brittany Ferries since 1990. He has been in the role of UK Managing Director since 2015 and sits on the Condor board of directors. He was instrumental in helping shape the new fleet plan for the business, including the chartering of fast craft Normandie Express from Brittany Ferries.
Confirming his appointment, John said: “Despite challenging times, Condor will continue to be the lifeblood of the Channel Islands providing essential services, connecting people and delivering freight. I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead Condor through the rebuilding stage post Covid, working with our key stakeholders to ensure that the Island economies bounce back.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank Paul for all his hard work in navigating the ship through the current crisis.”
