Collas Crill has announced three newly qualified lawyers in the Channel Islands.
Jessica Burgess (pictured) and Laura Smith from Guernsey and Millie Thompson from Jersey have qualified as Solicitors of England and Wales.
As a result all three lawyers have been promoted to Associates within the firm.
All three lawyer began their training contract with Collas Crill in September 2021, following the Legal Practice Course (LPC) route to qualification. They all completed seats within the firm’s practice areas covering dispute resolution, corporate, private client and property.
Upon qualification Jessica has joined the International Private Client and Trusts team, Laura and Millie the Dispute Resolution teams in Guernsey and Jersey respectively.
Jessica joined Collas Crill in 2018 and worked as a paralegal in the firm’s property and private client teams for three years before beginning her training contract. She is a graduate of the University of Chester where she achieved a 2:1 Bachelor of Laws with honours. She completed the LPC Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice with the University of Law, achieving a commendation level grade.
Laura joined the firm in 2021 having graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2:1 degree in Jurisprudence. Following this, she completed her LPC at the University of Law in 2021, achieving distinction in all subjects.
Millie was a bursary student with Collas Crill, gaining experience in both the corporate and dispute resolution teams.
She graduated from the University of Liverpool with a 2:1 Bachelor of Laws with Honours and has completed the LPC with the University of Law, achieving a distinction.
Both Jessica and Laura recently completed secondments with leading UK law firms – Jessica in the Private Client team at Withers and Laura in the Trusts and Estates Disputes team at Howard Kennedy.
