Guernsey accountancy firm Cleland & Co has appointed a new director to add experience to its senior leadership team.
Laura Campbell joins the firm having moved from London where she most recently worked for Funding Circle, the UK’s largest peer-to-peer lender for small businesses.
Mrs Campbell is a Chartered Accountant and trained in Guernsey with PwC’s audit and advisory departments. She subsequently worked for the firm in London focusing on technical accounting advisory engagements. At Funding Circle, she specialised in fund structures and was responsible for the accounting and operations of both public and private funds, including a Guernsey investment trust listed on the London Stock Exchange.
“The company is growing and we’re planning for its long-term future with this appointment. Our senior leadership team has a diverse skillset and a variety of experience which means we can better meet the needs of our clients,” said founder and Managing Director Harry Dick-Cleland.
The appointment of Mrs Campbell follows the appointments of Vicki Webster and Samantha Cox as directors last year. All three are on the senior leadership team along with Mr Dick-Cleland.
“Having spent time working in industry, Laura diversifies Cleland & Co’s offering, adds funds experience and bolsters our client-centric mindset, and that’s why we were so keen for her to join us,” said Mr Dick-Cleland.
“Cleland & Co has experienced low staff turnover over the years, with three of our team members having been with the firm since it started in 2003. Most recently, Samantha Cox celebrated her 10-year milestone with us. As a small, local business it’s important to hire the right people for our firm as well as our clients and we’re confident that in Laura we have another exceptional team member.”
Cleland & Co is a Guernsey-owned, independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors and its staff have a collective 150 years of experience in accountancy and related fields.
