The Rocquette Cider company entered two of their still ciders, Salty Dog 7.2% ABV, and Mouliere 6%, into the International Cider Challenge Awards
This competition is designed to recognise the diversity and range of packaged products and is blind tested by an expert panel of independent judges and assessed according to taste, appearance and aroma.
Rocquttes won a prestigious silver medal for Salty Dog and bronze for Mouliere. These awards add to previous accolades for local cider makers, James Meller and Miguel Gomez at Rocquette Cider Farm.
A Royal Win has also been achieved for Rocquette Traditional 6% ABV, which won a bronze award at The Royal Bath and West Show 2018.
This Show is in the heart of the West Country which is home to cider and cheddar cheese; and the show hosts the British Cider Championships and The British Cheese Awards. The show features over 125 food producers, ranging from street food to ‘sit, eat and enjoy’, to the finest produce you can take home to cook and share with all the family. The first show took place in Taunton in 1852 and then toured the country for more than 100 years before a permanent home was found in Shepton Mallet in 1965. It gained its Royal Patronage in 1977.
The Royal Bath and West Show is England’s Biggest celebration of Rural Life and England’s only 4 day Royal Show.
