The winners of a local competition to design a Christmas jumper celebrating what’s been great about 2021 have been unveiled at a ceremony at Liberty Wharf.
Last month, marketing agency, Brand Champions, teamed up with local businesses to launch a design competition to get Jersey’s ‘little brand champions’ full of festive cheer.
The competition, which was open to all islanders up to the age of 11, was looking for dazzling Christmas jumper designs which celebrate the most positive aspects of this year, whether it be reaching an agreement at COP 26 or a personal moment, such as the birth of a brother or sister.
At a celebratory event, which took place at Liberty Wharf on Thursday 16th December, Violet Bartlett-Hazley (7) collected first prize, while Darcey Boylan (10) and Lucas Lagadu (7) were crowned runners up.
All three designs were made into gingerbread people and presented to the talented youngsters, along with a selection of prizes which included a ‘Family Pizza Box’, ‘Luxury sleepover for two’, Percy Pig hamper and a Christmas goodies hamper.
Fiona Wylie, Founder of Brand Champions, and one of the judging panel, commented: “We couldn’t believe the number of entries we received and the standard of the wonderful designs which all really considered what had been good about 2021.
“I am delighted that our objectives have been achieved – we spread Christmas cheer while also encouraging youngsters to think about what has been great about a year which has been so challenging on so many fronts. We believe in creativity in everyone at Brand Champions, not least of all our ‘little Brand Champions’ and I send my congratulations to them all.”
“A huge thank you to Pizza Box, Camp’ In, Lab-6, Liberty Wharf and SandpiperCI for kindly providing all of our brilliant prizes,” added Fiona.
