Candie Christmas takes place every Sunday during December (except the 27th) at Guernsey Museum with a packed programme of seasonal things to see and do.
A unique Santa’s Grotto will be set up on the terrace, decorated especially for the occasion. A charge of £5 per child applies to the Grotto and includes a gift.
The museum’s friends at the Guernsey Arts Commission will be running children’s crafts in the Discovery Room as well as some other crafts specifically aimed at older children and adults. These will vary each week, so will be worth looking in on all through the month.
Festive family films will be shown in the Frossard Theatre all day, and during some Sundays, there will be a chance to join in with some Christmas carol singing in Guernésiais. Storytelling in the galleries will be provided by staff from Guille-Allès Library while Anna, Elsa and friends will appear throughout the Candie Christmas days with themed trails around the Museum.
There is a beautiful range of gifts on sale in the Museum shop and Café Victoria will be open for hot drinks, mince pies, snacks and lunches.
Vikki Gray from Visitor Services said: “We like to think that Candie Christmas offers something different to other seasonal experiences. The museum galleries are a unique backdrop to some really special activities at a time when we all need a bit of festive fun.”
