Offshore law firm Carey Olsen now ranks third for the number of companies it advises on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) – behind only onshore law firms Slaughter and May (first) and Herbert Smith Freehills (second).
The most recent edition of the Corporate Advisers Rankings Guide shows that Carey Olsen improved upon its position of fourth from the previous quarter and it now advises 101 LSE listed clients.
Carey Olsen partner Ben Morgan, head of the firm’s corporate and finance group in Guernsey, said: “Carey Olsen has for some time been the go-to offshore law firm for London Stock Exchange listings, so it is therefore extremely pleasing to see Carey Olsen take a position alongside some of the largest onshore law firms.”
Carey Olsen’s most recent LSE clients include US loan specialist Marble Point Loan Financing, which began trading on the Specialist Fund Segment of the LSE’s Main Market in February, and independent financial services provider JTC, which was admitted to the Main Market in March.
The Corporate Advisers Ranking Guide show that with 101 LSE listed clients, Carey Olsen has comfortably more than double the number of the next nearest offshore law firm. The firm has also maintained its long-standing position as the leading offshore legal adviser for AIM-listed clients, advising a total of 30 clients.
Mr Morgan added: “Carey Olsen has established a strong position as the market leader for advising listed clients offshore; building one of the largest offshore corporate teams which provides us with the necessary wealth of experience, industry insight and professionalism required for our increasing market share.”
