Carey Olsen has announced the promotion of six lawyers across the firm’s Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Jersey and Singapore offices, with effect from 1 January 2024.
Those promoted to counsel are:
- Jersey: Arindam Madhuryya (corporate)
- Singapore: Maggie Yan (corporate)
Prior to joining Carey Olsen as an associate in 2014, Arindam Madhuryya (pictured) worked for Slaughter and May in London and at Indian law firm Trilegal’s Mumbai office. He was also seconded to a large Jersey based hedge fund as in-house counsel in 2015-16.
He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an Advocate in India in 2013.
Those promoted to senior associate are:
- Cayman Islands: Jason Mbakwe (dispute resolution and litigation)
- Hong Kong: Winnie Lo (dispute resolution and litigation)
- Jersey: Connor Alexander (corporate)
- Singapore: Eng How Cheow (corporate)
Connor Alexander joined Carey Olsen in 2019, having previously worked for Eversheds Sutherland.
He is qualified as a legal practitioner in South Africa and was educated at Michaelhouse, Rhodes University and the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
