Mortgage Sales Executive

The Mortgage Sales Executive will support the team in sourcing profitable new mortgage customers both directly and through the broker channel, in line with the company strategy and corporate plan.

This role involves effectively handling customer enquiries from new and existing customers and positively developing the Skipton International brand in the marketplace.

Key accountabilities

  • Liaise with existing and potential mortgage customers to retain/extend existing relationships or establish new ones.
  • Conduct LCF compliant mortgage meetings with new/existing clients to complete approval in principle calculations and package mortgage applications to Skipton requirements before submitting to onboarding and credit teams for review.
  • Enhance and promote Skipton’s image and reputation through contact with customers, brokers, and the public regarding Skipton’s mortgage business.
  • Assist the Senior Mortgage Sales Manager/Chief Commercial Officer with project work as required.
  • Engage with local, UK, and international brokers to promote Skipton International’s product range.
  • Work closely with local industry professionals such as estate agents, solicitors, brokers, and others to ensure smooth processing of applications.
  • Champion the customer experience with Skipton and ensure outcomes are appropriate for customers.
  • Deliver excellent service to customers and/or stakeholders.

Requirements

Essential:
  • Qualification: Full CeMAP (or equivalent) qualification is desired, although full training will be provided – mandatory for Guernsey colleagues.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (phone and face-to-face).
    • Ability to respond to enquiries efficiently and in a customer-friendly manner.
    • Confidence in contacting and dealing with external parties.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Ability to manage multiple applications and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable:
  • Skills:
    • Experience in independently interpreting and communicating more complex and/or sensitive information in less straightforward situations.
  • Knowledge:
    • Financial services regulation.
    • Anti-Money Laundering obligations.
    • Jersey, Guernsey, and UK property markets and conveyancing processes.
  • Experience:
    • Prior customer-facing experience.
