Legal Counsel
Are you an experienced legal professional with a passion for financial regulation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel in St Peter Port, Guernsey.
This permanent position requires expertise in navigating the legal frameworks that underpin financial integrity.
As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive legal advice across departments, assist with policy development, advise on operational matters, draft rules and regulations and collaborate with external advisors to handle litigation tasks effectively.
To be successful in this role, you must hold a valid practising certificate from the UK or Commonwealth countries and have at least 3 years post-qualification experience in regulatory and financial services law.
As the Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in ensuring that the organisation is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. You will provide legal advice to various departments, including finance, compliance, and operations, as well as assist with the development of policies and procedures to ensure that the operations are conducted in a legally sound manner.
In addition to your legal expertise, you will need to be a strong communicator, able to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders clearly and concisely. You will also need to be a skilled negotiator, able to advocate for the organisation’s interests while maintaining positive relationships with external stakeholders.
