
Head of Compliance
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Head of Compliance to join team and lead the compliance function for their Trust and Corporate Service Provider (TCSP) operations on the Isle of Man. The successful candidate will ensure that their business adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements, maintains high standards of compliance, and fosters a culture of integrity and compliance throughout the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and manage all regulatory relationships.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure the business adapts to new requirements promptly.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across the organization.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage compliance risks effectively.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to staff at all levels to promote a strong compliance culture.
- Ensure that all employees understand their compliance obligations and are equipped to adhere to them.
- Oversee the monitoring of compliance activities and ensure that any issues are identified and addressed promptly.
- Prepare and present regular compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all compliance activities.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management and staff on compliance matters.
- Support the business in developing and implementing compliant strategies and practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance across the organization.
Minimum requirements
- Relevant professional qualification in compliance, law, or a related field (e.g., ICA, STEP, ACCA).
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment for TCSPs in the Isle of Man.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance programs.
- Experience in managing relationships with regulatory bodies and handling regulatory examinations and audits.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
