
Finance Operations Manager
We are seeking a Finance Operations Manager to lead the Finance Operations function at Skipton International (Skipton). This role is crucial in delivering the financial aspects of the strategic objectives for the business. The Finance Operations Manager will provide value-creating financial, commercial, and advisory support, focusing on building trends and analyses of the external environment and bringing in different perspectives to help the Executive team view leading-edge practices.
Key accountabilities
- Finance, planning, and management information:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial information on business activities and performance.
- Provide the Executive Committee and Board with financial performance insights, highlighting significant risks.
- Provide management information to monitor business performance and identify corrective actions.
- Coordinate the production of financial forecasts, including the Corporate Plan and stress tests.
- Support the Finance Business Partner in strategic cost management.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisers.
- Finance operations:
- Work closely with the Balance Sheet Risk Manager to manage bank balances and treasury transactions.
- Ensure timely and correctly authorised expense payments.
- Ensure accurate daily transaction accounting.
- Review daily reconciliations and clear outstanding items promptly.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and board risk limits.
- Maintain up-to-date finance policies and procedures documentation.
- Monitor Treasury Policy compliance daily.
Essential requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, or CIMA – Fellowship of one of these organisations is a bonus).
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience working in a senior finance or commercial role.
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards and Financial Services Regulation is essential.
- Previous experience in a Financial Operations Manager role or equivalent is necessary.
