
Finance Business Partner
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to support the Finance Operations Manager in delivering the financial aspects of the strategic objectives for the business. This role provides value-creating financial, commercial, and advisory support to Skipton, focusing on building trends and analyses of the external environment and bringing in different perspectives to help the Executive team view leading-edge practices.
Key accountabilities
- Work in partnership with business units to help deliver the strategic objectives of Skipton
- Play an active role in providing input to the Corporate Plan and Quarterly Forecasts and supporting colleagues in the Balance Sheet Risk Team
- Formulate appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs); monitor performance against those KPIs; and help course correct where appropriate
- Liaise with the Balance Sheet Risk team to help formulate the Corporate Plan and relevant stress scenarios
- Liaise with the Financial Reporting team to provide relevant performance KPIs and insight to the ExCo and the Board
- Create synergies and joined-up thinking across the business, considering optimal use of data and insight to inform future direction
- Work with the business to derive key assumptions for financial planning, ensuring direction is well thought through and setting the business up to succeed
- Lead profitability analyses to drive optimal value from business areas, e.g., customer growth and core customers
- Provide robust challenge and financial risk assessment to support the strategic decision-making process
- Be a conduit to Finance services to the wider business
- Provide strategic cost management support and challenge to the business and liaise with Group as required
- Maintain robust levels of skills and knowledge in the team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements, leading to the delivery of good customer outcomes and fair value for all customers
- Monitor compliance with all Finance policies to ensure that the company operates within all regulatory and policy limits and provide reports to the Board on the company’s position
Essential requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, or CIMA)
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience working in a senior finance or commercial role
- 3+ years’ experience working in a finance business partnering specific senior role
- Exceptional ability to influence, engage, and work in partnership with senior stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret various forms of data and present the findings in a relevant format that is easily understood
