
Change Manager
We are seeking a proactive Change Manager to join our Change Management team at Skipton International Limited (SIL). This role involves supporting the Senior Programme Manager in driving strategic change programmes and organisational transformation.
The Change Manager will ensure the effective implementation of change initiatives by managing both the technology and human aspects of change, encouraging stakeholder engagement, and promoting a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
Key accountabilities
- Project Management: Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business strategies and objectives. Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure milestones are met. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Requirements Documentation and Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of business requirements and change initiatives. Ensure documentation is accessible and understandable for all relevant stakeholders.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Design, coordinate, and oversee testing phases to ensure new processes, systems, or solutions meet requirements and perform as expected before implementation. Develop test plans and scenarios to validate changes. Ensure thorough testing and quality assurance before deployment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure their buy-in, manage expectations, and facilitate communication throughout change projects. Conduct regular stakeholder meetings and updates. Address stakeholder concerns and feedback promptly.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that align with business objectives and drive operational excellence. Identify opportunities for improvement through data analysis and stakeholder feedback. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation.
- Change Governance: Support the development and implementation of reporting mechanisms to provide regular updates on project status to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and provide actionable insights. Maintain comprehensive documentation of project governance and reporting processes.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with change projects. Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies. Develop risk management plans and mitigation strategies. Monitor and report on risk status throughout the project lifecycle.
- External Relationships: Manage relationships with external partners and suppliers to leverage capability to deliver value for Skipton. Support supplier performance reviews to ensure adherence to agreed standards. Collaborate with external bodies to identify and implement best practices.
Essential requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong grades at GCSE, A Level, or equivalent.
- Change Management qualification or relevant experience.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, capable of influencing at all levels within Skipton.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies with the ability to encourage an agile culture within the change management team.
- Practical experience in applying change management throughout the full cycle, including initiation, requirements gathering, delivery, benefits realisation, and review.
- Thorough understanding of change management techniques and methodologies, including agile practices.
- Familiarity with change management tools such as MS Projects, JIRA, and DevOps.
- Knowledge of change delivery techniques and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing change initiatives within a business environment.
Desirable:
- Degree level or similar professional certification in Change Management or a related field.
- Extensive experience in Change Management roles with professional qualifications including APM, Agile, Prince 2, Scrum, BCS Business Analysis.
- Proven track record in scoping and delivering change projects and programmes, with the ability to drive change initiatives.
- Strong expertise in agile methodologies and the ability to support agile transformation within the organisation.
- Advanced stakeholder management and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior executives.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of change management techniques and methodologies, including agile and lean practices.
- Proficiency in using change management tools and software.
- Good understanding of industry best practices in change delivery.
- Experience in leading change initiatives and managing cross-functional project teams.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
