Audit Trainee
The Audit Trainee will assist in performing audit assignments and ensure financial records comply with regulatory standards and company policies. Key responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting audits of financial statements, evaluating internal controls, and assessing compliance with applicable standards.
- Support the audit team in planning, executing, and completing audit engagements.
- Perform substantive testing on financial transactions and processes, identifying any discrepancies or irregularities.
- Compile and analyze financial data to detect any significant trends or potential issues.
- Document audit findings and workpapers in a clear and organized manner for review by senior team members.
- Develop a solid understanding of clients’ business processes, financials, and internal controls.
- Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial data and clarify audit queries.
- Participate in training sessions and study toward relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA).
- Continuously build knowledge of audit tools and best practices, contributing ideas for improving audit efficiency.
- Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality agreements, and company policies throughout all audit tasks.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
- Experience: No prior audit experience required, though any finance/accounting internships or related work experience is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity, ethical standards, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and general familiarity with accounting software.
