Anyone interested in finding out more about careers and roles available at Jersey Airport and St Helier Harbour can meet with employers and various company representatives during the inaugural Ports Skills Show, which is taking place at Jersey Airport on Thursday 24 January 2019.
Representatives from airline ground handler, Swissport, airport and harbour caterer Casual Dining Group, travel operators Condor Ferries and Blue Islands, and Ports of Jersey itself, including Jersey Coastguard and Jersey Marinas will be attending the event, which takes place between 4pm and 10pm in the main departures terminal at Jersey Airport. Business partners will be available to provide information to those actively seeking employment, considering their future career prospects with full-time, part-time, weekend and seasonal positions being recruited for. The event will provide attendees with an excellent opportunityto explore roles across a range of industries at both the airport and harbour, receive career advice about employment routes and progression as well as learn about potential training opportunities.
With such a wealth of roles available across the businesses attending, employers are delighted to have this opportunity at the Skills Showcase to meet attendees and discuss future opportunities, according to Passenger Services Manager for Ports of Jersey, Maria Le Tiec, who is organising the event. She says, “We are looking forwarded to welcoming interested members of the public to this inaugural Showcase, which features not only Ports of Jersey but also many of our on-site business partners who will also be exhibiting. There are a wide range of careers available throughout our airport and harbours and the Skills Showcase aims to provide attendees with the knowledge to make an informed choice about their future career options”.
The 2019 Ports Skills Showcase is open to all, although some roles will require five years residency. More information on the event can be found via the Ports of Jersey Facebook Page.
