LV Care Group has appointed two new Managers, to enhance the leadership of Jersey’s care provider.
Alexandra Granger (shown in the main picture) has been appointed Peripatetic Manager, a role which will see her supporting the Clinical Director and the Group’s care homes providing managerial support where needed. Alexandra has most recently been Deputy Manager at a 58 bed dementia care home in the island after twenty years in the sector, and will cover staff leave, sickness, and training. The role will further strengthen the continuity of care for residents.
Jersey born Alexandra has extensive experience in running care homes and supervising staff and will use that knowledge in the new role. “It is vitally important for our residents, as well as LV staff, that we provide continuity and structured leadership support. I am looking forward to assisting the management at the LV homes in ensuring we provide the best level of care for our residents, and a secure and nurturing environment for staff.”
St Joseph’s Residential and Nursing Home’s Deputy Manager, Marta Rodrigues has been promoted to Registered Home Manager, allowing former Manager, Tracey Gentry to take up a full time position as Clinical Director of the LV Care Group. Marta has spent all of her career in healthcare, starting as a care assistant and working in a variety of roles, and has been deputy manager at St Joseph’s for two years. “I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Manager at St Joseph’s after two years working with the team. We cater for a variety of needs, but I shall ensure that whatever our residents’ requirements, we will continue to offer excellent individual care to them all.”
The business now operates six homes in Jersey, and one in the Isle of Man. In addition, it has planning applications submitted for two further sites in Jersey, and two in the IoM. While recruitment is challenging in the sector, LV Care Group established the Care Academy in 2018, in order to ensure continued training and career development for not just its own staff, but for all care providers. The Group supports its staff with their education and training, and actively promotes internally.
Nick Bettany, CEO and co-founder of LV Care Group said: “We are incredibly fortunate to have Alexandra join the Group, and to be able to promote Marta to Manager at St Joseph’s. We know that it is our employees who really make the difference with their dedication and experience, and so staff succession and personal career progression are at the heart of our employer ethos.”
