More than £3000 was raised for the mental health charity Guernsey Mind at a pub-style quiz hosted by the Channel Islands’ largest technology solutions provider C5 Alliance.
The money raised will help the charity promote awareness of mental health issues and highlight the need for better facilities in order to help those suffering from mental health problems.
This is C5 Alliance’s sixth time hosting the annual quiz, the proceeds of which have always gone to Guernsey Mind.
The quiz, which was held at the Duke of Richmond Hotel, was in keeping with C5 Alliance’s values – high tech and fast paced. Competitors used an app to participate and were racing against the clock to answer the questions, which produced a lively, fun-filled event.
Jill Chadwick is the Community Coordinator for Guernsey Mind. She said: “We are so grateful for C5 Alliance’s continued support throughout the years, which allows us to improve the lives of the people who are brave enough to speak out and ask for help. Having Guernsey Mind as their sponsored charity just goes to show how dedicated C5 Alliance is to helping us change lives for the better.”
Chris Ash, Head of C5 Alliance Business Guernsey, said: “We’re really happy with the results of the fundraiser, Guernsey Mind is such a worthy cause and we want to spread the message that it is important to speak out about mental health. If we have the means and the understanding to help those who are struggling, which can be anyone at any stage of their life, then we should.”
