BWCI’s Amber Buckingham has completed all of the exams required to qualify as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Amber joined BWCI in 2013 as an actuarial trainee, after having been awarded the BWCI Cup for Further Mathematics at the Ladies’ College for her impressive A level results.
As well an experienced member of BWCI’s pensions actuarial team, Amber plays an active role on the Channel Islands Actuarial Association’s Committee. She took on the role of secretary to the Committee in 2019, having previously been the Committee’s student representative.
Amber’s final exam was particularly memorable, as the original exam date had to be pushed back a few weeks, due to the pandemic, to give the examining body time to switch the exams to an online format.
Amber said: “My final exam was not how I imagined it would be, but I am grateful that the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries were able to move the exams online so that I did not have to delay qualification. I’m looking forward to continuing to use the knowledge and skills gained throughout my studies within my work at BWCI.”
