Clare Maurice and Mandy Langmead have been appointed Directors of the Board of Butterfield Trust (Guernsey) Limited.
The appointments were effective March 8th, 2022, following the approval of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
Ms. Maurice, Senior Partner and founding member of Maurice Turnor Gardner LLP, joins the board as a non-executive Director. Specialising in international tax and estate planning, Ms. Maurice also advises trustees on relevant legal and practical issues. She has a wealth of experience advising on philanthropic matters and has acted as a trustee of a number of charities, including Barts Charity and SafeLives, both of which she chaired.
Having qualified at Allen & Overy in 1978, Ms. Maurice became the firm’s first female partner in 1985 and, from 2000, was responsible for running the Private Client team. Ms. Maurice is a top-ranked Band 1 lawyer in the Chambers High Net Worth guide. She is also included in the Legal 500 Directory Hall of Fame and is a longstanding member of the Legal Week Private Client Global Elite.
Mandy Langmead, who serves as Head of Fiduciary Management for Butterfield’s trust operations in Guernsey, has also been appointed to the Board of Directors.
Ms. Langmead is a trust professional with over 30 years’ experience in dealing with the financial and succession planning needs of private clients and their families. With a particular focus on clients in the UK, Canada and East Asia, Ms. Langmead is well versed in the administration of traditional assets as well as complex dynastic planning across multiple jurisdictions.
