Butterfield has appointed David Woodhead as Head of Lending for Guernsey and Julian Woodcock as Head of Lending for Jersey, as part of its expansion into personal banking in the Channel Islands.
Edward Jones, Head of Lending for the Channel Islands at Butterfield, said: “Butterfield aims to become the preferred bank for local customers in the Channel Islands. Following the successful launch of residential mortgages last year, we look forward to introducing further financial products to the market.
“Julian and David will oversee that process of continued development. Both are long-term residents with a proven track-record and valued experience which will enhance our offer to clients and I welcome them to the team.”
Julian brings with him over 30 years’ experience of retail mortgage products from the UK and overseas. He joins Butterfield from Barclays, where he spent ten years as Vice President responsible for mortgage distribution across Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
David is re-joining Butterfield from Rothschild & Co, where he was the Head of Business Development for Private Client Lending. He was previously a Lending Manager with Butterfield between 2008 and 2014.
Julian said: “Butterfield is undergoing a journey to become a full-service community bank and developing products to meet the needs of the people in Jersey. Its commitment to the island appeals to me and is an especially rewarding part of my role. I’m excited to be part of the ambitious programme of development.”
David said: “Butterfield has an excellent understanding of the market and really stands out for providing a personalised service with a friendly, on-island team that can make decisions locally. I’m looking forward to further establishing Butterfield as a trusted adviser for a growing number of islanders.”
Butterfield will be celebrating 50 years in the Channel Islands next year and employs more than 300 people across the islands.
