Bright Beginnings is launching a new free Ante-Natal Information Evening so that expectant parents have the opportunity to explore the different services available to them within the peri-natal period.

‘Blossoming Bumps’ will be hosted at the Bright Beginnings Children Centre every two months, with the first event being held on Tuesday 29th June 2021. Bright Beginnings staff and programme leaders as well as external providers will be present and available to talk with parents-to-be who are looking to learn more about the range of services on offer and experience the welcoming sense of community that the Centre fosters.

Bright Beginnings Children’s Centre and Nursery opened in 2017 and offers free services in the Children’s Centre and a combination of free and paid for services in the nursery, all of which are informed by the 1001 Critical Days Agenda ethos – for all children to receive sensitive, appropriate and responsive care from their main caregivers in the first years of life.

Faye Priaulx, Family Support Worker at Bright Beginnings explained to Channel Eye: “The Centre is a hub for new parents, a place of community and support, but lots of expectant parents are unaware of what we do. Introducing an ante-natal information evening is a great way for us to showcase what new parents are entitled to and what support is out there.

“It’s important to us that people understand what services they can access before giving birth so that they feel supported straightaway upon entering parenthood. Blossoming Bumps is all about bringing people together, connecting and preparing them for the exciting and special journey that they’re about to embark on,” added Faye.

The evening is suitable for expectant parents who are approximately 20 weeks or more into their pregnancy and will showcase services from Bright Beginnings, Guernsey Sling Library, Speech & Language, Guernsey Therapy Group and more.

The first Blossoming Bumps takes place between 5:30 – 7:30pm on Tuesday 29th June 2021. The remaining information evenings this year will be hosted on 11th August, 13th October and 8th December.
