PR agency, Black Vanilla, is the first organisation in Guernsey to be awarded both the Community Champion and Environmental Business Operations Framework accreditations by ESI Monitor.
Black Vanilla has recently been awarded the Community Champion Award for its outstanding contribution to the local community, alongside the Environmental Business Operations Framework accreditation which it achieved last year.
Both accreditations require an ongoing commitment – to becoming a sustainable business and minimising negative environmental effects, as well as maintaining an active role in the community.
ESI Monitor supports organisations that are empowered to improve their environmental and social sustainability through measurement, minimisation, management and benchmarking.
On becoming the first organisation to achieve both accreditations, Nichole Culverwell, Director of Black Vanilla, said: “This is a fantastic achievement which reflects our culture and commitment to not just our clients, but our local community and the wider world. I’m proud of our team for their hard work and dedication.
“We see this double accreditation as simply the first step in an ongoing process to reduce our impact on the environment whilst increasing the positive role we can take in our community. We are very aware there is much to done, and we are grateful for the guidance and support provided by ESI Monitor.”
Black Vanilla’s contributions to the local community include offering reduced rates for charities, offering free of charge support, taking part in charitable fundraising events as well as creating initiatives that give back to the local community such as its hedge stall. The hedge stall hosts local businesses who donate a percentage of their sales to selected Guernsey charities.
Marc Laine, Managing Director of ESI Monitor, said: “Congratulations to Black Vanilla for achieving both ESI Monitor accreditations. They have shown great commitment to the local community and are working towards a green future.”
