BDO Jersey has announced the launch of the Chris Stuart Bursary, an annual initiative designed to provide financial assistance to students pursuing undergraduate studies.
Named in honour of the late Chris Stuart (pictured), a beloved leader at BDO Jersey, the bursary reflects his enduring legacy of supporting the growth and development of young talent.
Chris Stuart was renowned for his leadership, particularly his commitment to the development of people and he consistently led by example. The Chris Stuart Bursary has been established to continue his work, offering a unique opportunity for students to earn while they learn and advance their careers.
The bursary provides a total of £15,000 over a three-year period. This financial support is intended to alleviate the burden of higher education costs, enabling students to focus on their studies and future professional paths.
The bursary is open to students who will be sitting their A-Levels, or equivalent qualification, in summer 2025 and applicants must have entitled or entitled to work status.
Matthew Corbin CEO said: “We are honoured to continue Chris Stuart’s legacy through this bursary, Chris was deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of talent, and this bursary is a testament to his values. We are excited to offer this opportunity to students who share his passion for growth and development.”
Jess Stuart said: “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to BDO for establishing this bursary in memory of my beloved husband, Chris. Chris was always passionate about helping others and believed in the power of education to change lives. I know he would be incredibly proud to see this opportunity being offered to those who need it most. Your generosity not only honours his legacy but also brings hope and possibility to the next generation, something that would have meant the world to him. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive in such a meaningful way.”
