BDO Guernsey will be relocating to Admiral Park, the landmark St Peter Port office complex, when the final phase of the development is complete in 2024.
The move will provide a modern office facility for BDO’s people, combining individual work stations equipped with the latest technology, with breakout areas designed for collaboration.
Agile workspaces have been designed to grant flexibility to employees, and a large social space with kitchen facilities will allow for everything from workday breaks to team bonding sessions to functions.
Meeting spaces will be adaptable depending on need and have the latest video conferencing solutions to keep BDO’s people connected.
Developed by Comprop, the building is the final phase of Admiral Park and is an impressive 67,000sq. ft Grade A head quarter office that boasts an imposing and iconic design. BDO is set to move into the second floor of the development.
Upon completion, the building will be subject to the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), which is marketed as the world’s leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings, the structure will be accredited for energy performance and sustainability criteria. The new development is anticipated to be Guernsey’s first BREEAM-rated building.
The office has been developed to maximise both natural light and the efficiency of the space.
Richard Searle, Managing Director of BDO Guernsey, said of the move: “We are excited to be moving to a dynamic area of town. At BDO we believe in investing in the future of Guernsey businesses, with an acute focus on workplace wellbeing at the top of our agenda. The combination of location with the high-spec quality of office will provide new and current employees with a modern environment that meets their needs and encourages socialising and engagement between colleagues and friends.
“BDO has had a presence in Guernsey for more than 120 years and signing a lease for a new premises reinforces our commitment to the island. Our purpose is helping people and businesses to succeed and being in a new, purpose-designed space is absolutely going to help our amazing team do just that, for our wide range of local clients.
“The eco credentials of the building, as accredited by BREEAM, make this one of the greenest buildings in Guernsey, which is fantastic news as we continually look to minimise our impact on the island’s beautiful natural environment.”
The building itself has been sympathetically designed with double entrance lobbies to seamlessly connect to both the plaza and the road network to the east, allowing convenient access to the plentiful amenities in the area. There will be ample provision of bicycle and e-bike parking, along with cycle lanes to be developed in the surrounding area.
The main contractor will be J W Rihoy & Son Ltd and the works are due to be completed in June 2024.
