BDO Group in Jersey, which includes C5 Alliance and ALX Training, have joined the United Nations Global Compact Initiative – a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation, and disclosure of responsible business practises.
BDO Group joins thousands of other companies globally committed to taking responsible business action to create the world we all want.
The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, and to act in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 15,000 companies and 3,800 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries, and more than 69 Local Networks.
Jon Kandiah (pictured), Group Chief Operating Officer at BDO Group, said: “In line with our commitment to these principles, BDO is proud to have joined the United Nations Global Compact Initiative. Joining this initiative is part of our wider commitment to running our business with Environmental, Social and Governance themes at the heart. We not only want to minimise our negative impact, but we also strive to increase our positive impact within both the community and the environment.”
