BDO Guernsey has appointed Dawn Sealey as Advisory Senior Manager to its regulatory consulting offering.
Dawn joined the accountancy and business advisory firm on 22 February 2021, after working for more than 17 years at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) where she acted as assistant director within the Investment, Fiduciary & Pensions Division. Prior to working at the GFSC she was a compliance practitioner at a UK asset management firm.
While at the GFSC, Dawn contributed towards the launch of the Guernsey Green Fund (GGF) – the world’s first regulated product in this sector. Dawn’s input into the launch of the GGF makes her one of the most knowledgeable experts on the platform and her interest in ESG matters equips her to advise on this rapidly growing area.
Dawn joins Paul Robinson and Amanda de Carteret, expanding and strengthening the regulatory consulting team. Dawn will offer regulatory consultancy, such as compliance health checks, governance reviews and specific advisory services, to Guernsey regulated businesses. She is experienced at supervising investment firms and products falling under the Protection of Investors Law and in advising firms on the regulatory landscape.
Paul said: “We are thrilled to welcome Dawn. Her experience of a wide range of areas during her time at the GFSC, coupled with extensive knowledge of the Protection of Investors Law and investment and fiduciary structures, means she is well versed in dealing with distressed funds, firms requiring enhanced supervision and applications.
“Dawn’s knowledge and experience makes her a fantastic asset to the team and we look forward to what we can achieve together”.
Paul and Amanda joined BDO Guernsey when it acquired Cerberus in 2020, and they have spearheaded the accountancy firm’s offering in regulatory consulting services in Guernsey.
