The Atlantic Hotel has been shortlisted for the Independent Hotel of the Year Award at this year’s Independent Hotel Show.
The annual awards ceremony will take place at the Olympia National in London on the 16th October.
The awards are designed to recognise the passion of independently spirited hoteliers who drive the sector forward and champion all the independent hotels across the UK and Ireland which make such amazing places to stay.
The Independent Hotel of the Year Award is presented to a hotel that has made a significant contribution to the independent hotel sector. The award recognises a hotel that embodies independent spirit, excellence, and innovation in creating exceptional guest experiences whilst pushing the boundaries expected of an independent hotel. Above all, the winner is an outstanding hotel that is committed to the development of their team, the success of their establishment, and the betterment of the industry.
This year the organisers received over 100 nominations with a panel of industry judges picking just eight for the shortlist. Alongside The Atlantic Hotel on the shortlist are the Aviator Hotel, Hampshire, The Cottage In The Wood, Malvern, The Fish Hotel, Broadway, The Grand, York, Grove of Narberth, Pembrokeshire, The Headland, Newquay and Ness Walk, Inverness.
The Independent Hotel of the Year Award is decided through a combination of online voting and marks from the esteemed panel of judges with the overall winner being crowned at the glittering awards ceremony in October.
Patrick Burke, Owner and Managing Director said: “I’m extremely proud that we are one of just eight hotels to have been shortlisted out of so many nominations this year. This is a fiercely competitive category and it’s an honour to be up against such prestigious properties from around the UK.
“The independent spirit is something that is firmly embedded in the culture at The Atlantic as demonstrated by our team on a daily basis so these awards are particularly special to us. They also present a great opportunity to put Jersey on the map as a world class destination.”
