The Juggling King Rum Company has appointed an Assistant Distiller, Tor Ritchie-Bandy, to assist Master Distiller and Head of Research & Development, Matthew Lane, as the local company prepares to launch in the UK.
Matthew Lane said: “Tor’s experience will provide additional capacity to our team as we look to continue our growth as the first seed-to-bottle rum producer in Guernsey. I’m looking forward to him joining the business”.
Tor is a graduate of the University of Creative Arts in Farnham and has worked in Thailand, Menorca and Guernsey in various sectors. His experience has earned him a broad understanding of the work ethic required for such a role – which, as The Juggling King expands, will prove demanding.
Jack Gervaise-Brazier Founder and Managing Director of The Juggling King Rum Company commented: “Tor’s appointment allows us to bolster our production capabilities, as we look to increase our distribution in the UK and further afield, as well as develop our product range with new rums.
“A hard worker and very keen to learn. Tor exhibits all the required attributes to ensure he flourishes in his new role under the stewardship of Matthew. I am delighted he has joined us at such a pivotal moment for the business”.
The Juggling King, which officially launched this year and is available at 18 locations across Guernsey, utilises the island’s greenhouses to grow sugarcane and is recognised as the first seed-to-bottle rum distilled in Guernsey.
