The Institute of Directors Jersey has announced the official launch of the IoD Mentoring Scheme for the year 2024.
Building on the success of the 2023 pilot scheme, this initiative aims to connect aspiring and new Directors with seasoned professionals, fostering a collaborative environment for personal and professional growth.
The nine-month scheme, which is run by the IoD Jersey Professional Development Sub-Committee, offers a unique opportunity for members to engage in lifelong learning by participating in a mentorship that transcends industry boundaries. By bringing together experienced, locally-based Directors from diverse sectors, the IoD reinforces its commitment to the community’s development and its ethos of reciprocal support.
The emphasis of the IoD Mentoring Scheme is on fostering an inclusive two-way partnership that facilitates mutual learning for both Mentee and Mentor.
This approach allows for the exchange of skills, knowledge, and experience, ultimately expanding professional networks and enhancing leadership abilities.
Clare Humpleby, Vice Chair of the Professional Development Sub-Committee, said: “The IoD Mentoring Scheme is a testament to the dedication of our community in nurturing the next generation of leaders. The success of our pilot scheme in 2023 was a clear indication of the willingness of established Directors to contribute their time and expertise towards shaping the future of leadership.”
Applications for individuals interested in participating as either a Mentee or Mentor in the 2024 scheme are now open. To learn more about the programme and to submit an application, please visit the IoD Jersey website.
The deadline for applications is set for 26 January 2024.
