Lindsay Wood has been appointed Chief Executive of Andium Homes.
The appointment was made at the conclusion of the recruitment process run by the Board of Andium Homes and overseen by the Jersey Appointments Commission.
Lindsay (pictured) will take up the role on 22nd April 2025 following a structured handover with the outgoing Chief Executive, Ian Gallichan, who announced his retirement in July 2024 after 11 years in the role.
Lindsay is currently the Chief Finance and Operations Officer at Andium, and formerly the Finance Director; she has been with Andium since incorporation in 2014, and prior to that the Housing Department since 2011.
Lindsay has lived in Jersey since 2007 with her husband and two daughters and is a Chartered Accountant with 14 years of housing experience, previously working at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She recently led a first for Jersey in securing what is understood to be the first Social Private Placement in a Crown Dependency, securing £100m investment into Andium’s development programme, facilitating the construction of 250 new family homes for Islanders, with work on some of those homes is already underway.
Deputy Sam Mezec, Minister for Housing said: “I am delighted that Lindsay Wood has been appointed Andium’s new CEO. Lindsay has been a key figure in delivering on many of the projects that Andium has pioneered in recent years to help alleviate Jersey’s housing crisis, and her passion for providing good quality affordable homes for Islanders shines through in everything she does. I am looking forward to working closely with her as the government and Andium tackle the housing challenges Jersey is still facing.
“I am also very grateful for the work of the outgoing CEO, Ian Gallichan, who has served Jersey with dedication and ought to be very proud of the legacy he leaves behind.”
Chair of Andium Homes, Richard McCarthy CBE said: “Myself and the entire Board of Andium Homes are delighted that Lindsay will become our next Chief Executive. Through a very rigorous selection process Lindsay has continued to demonstrate the drive, commitment and leadership skills that have defined her career so far. She takes over the helm at an interesting time where Andium’s increasing housing options for Islanders is having a real impact and I know that Lindsay will bring her own ideas for further opportunities which will particularly focus on supporting our older residents, young families and also providing opportunities for young people to stay on the Island and own their own home”.
Ian Gallichan, Andium’s current Chief Executive said: “Lindsay has been a huge support to me during my time as Chief Executive. I have enjoyed working with her immensely, and as I transition to retirement I know that I am leaving the Company in very capable hands. I wish her every success as she takes Andium Homes and its talented and dedicated people forward on its continuing mission of delivering great homes and services for Islanders.”
Lindsay said: “I am tremendously proud to have been involved in the formation of Andium and to have contributed to the significant achievements led by my predecessor and the Board. Ian certainly leaves big shoes to fill, but I am pleased to now have the privilege of leading Andium Homes through its next chapter, supported by our professional and dedicated team of colleagues.
“Being responsible for housing to more than 10% of residents is a significant responsibility. Providing great homes and services to them will continue to be our focus, as we strive to continually improve and broaden what we offer.
“I also look forward to providing homes to many more Islanders, for both rental and ownership. With almost 900 new homes in delivery, there has never been a better time for Islanders to access our homes. I would encourage anyone looking to rent or buy to take a fresh look at the criteria to access one of our homes, as it has recently been broadened and may well now apply to them.”
