Amberton Limited, the Jersey-based specialist investment firm has appointed Joshua Eyre as Director.
Amberton’s remit, whilst expected to broaden significantly over time, is to operate as manager and structurer of The Sancus Loan Note Programme – a series of vehicles which pool investors’ monies, with a view to deploying funds across a number of underlying debt positions originated by Sancus. This allows funders to access a diversified portfolio, secured on real estate, but at a reduced cost to participating directly.
The Sancus Loan Note Programme started in 2016, and has invested over £250m across 233 loans. Loans are originated by the Sancus Lending Group which are secured primarily against property located in the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar with diversity across a range of property sectors and maturity dates. Sancus itself offers short to medium term asset-backed lending, with particular specialism in property bridging and development finance, throughout the UK, Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar.
Josh has over twenty years’ experience across a breadth of roles spanning the finance industry, including mortgages and banking for a combination of retail, intermediary and family office clients. He is experienced in credit, as well as banking and investments, Josh holds CeMAP & Level 6 PCIAM through the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.
Josh says, “I couldn’t be more excited to be undertaking this new role at Amberton and re-connecting again with clients, colleagues and friends, particularly in Jersey and Guernsey. The potential for the loan note series is huge, with many seeking income in such a low interest rate environment – the product offers a competitive return for a prescribed period, with underlying security and additional protection measures in place for the investor. All of this, coupled with the chance to work alongside the team at Sancus made for a compelling opportunity that I could not miss.”
