BCR Law in Jersey has announced that Advocate James O’Grady has joined the firm. His appointment marks the further growth of BCR’s non-contentious work offering to its corporate and institutional clients.
Advocate O’Grady trained as an English Solicitor at Shoosmiths, moving to Jersey on qualification in 2005. He was called to the Jersey Bar in October 2011.
Prior to joining BCR Law, James was senior in-house legal counsel for an asset services company in Jersey, primarily supporting the legal business requirements of its corporate, funds and employee and executive solutions lines.
He was also previously a Senior Associate in the business and trusts law group at a large offshore law firm where his practice included dealing with a broad range of local and international corporate and finance matters. These included establishing, buying and selling Jersey companies (many with a UK real estate focus), joint venture transactions, financing transactions (primarily for corporate borrower clients), numerous cashbox transactions for London Stock Exchange listed clients, corporate restructurings and other commercial matters. James has also acted as an adviser to issuers listing debt on The International Stock Exchange.
Wendy Lambert, Partner in charge of the Corporate and Commercial Practice, said: “I am delighted that James is joining us. He has an excellent background across a good range of offshore corporate transactions and he will strengthen our highly capable team, expanding the services we can offer due to his experience both working with external clients and on in-house matters.”
James O’Grady said: “I am very pleased to be joining BCR Law. It is a growing firm and I look forward to being able to provide a personalised service to our corporate clients, on a range of issues.”
