Advocate Eloise Layzell has joined Ogier’s growing Jersey Dispute Resolution team as a senior associate.
Eloise, who has previously practiced at two other firms in Jersey, has appeared in major, high profile cases before the Royal Court and specialises in contentious regulatory matters, having previously advised the Jersey Financial Services Commission on a long-running case.
She is also recognised by Legal 500 2019, and specialises in trusts disputes and asset-tracing matters.
Eloise becomes the eighth Jersey Advocate in the disputes team, which is led by partners Nick Williams, Edward Mackereth and Oliver Passmore.
Her arrival follows that of Advocate Damian Evans at the start of the year, and the promotion to associate of Matthew Davies, who has this month qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales through the firm’s internal training scheme.
A further arrival in the team is due in April.
Nick Williams, who leads the Jersey disputes team, said: “We are delighted to welcome Eloise to the team as we continue to grow and develop our dispute resolution and litigation offering not just in Jersey but globally.
“Eloise comes to us with a strong reputation in the market, and we look forward to her supporting our leading contentious regulatory and trusts disputes teams.”
Eloise was called to the English Bar in 2005 and subsequently qualified as a Jersey Advocate in 2009.
